In families, sisters can be considered the jewel of the crown. Throughout the years, many sisters have been part of the history of the building now known as The Winery at Marjim Manor. Sisters Phoebe Sophia and Cordelia Merritt lived in the house in the 1800's. In 1933, the Sisters of St. Joseph bought the house to use as a summer retreat. Today, the Bittner family has added its jewel to the crown. In 2010, the family lost middle sister Diane at a young age. Her kindness and laughter are part of the fabric of the family.
